Women's March

Whether you will be gathering in D.C. or in your home city, there is a lot going on this weekend. I, unable to make it to the east coast, will be participating in the Women's March on Los Angeles! (Check out the Women's March website if you're unsure where your nearest march is.) I have to say that I'm excited and nervous to join in on such a powerful event and want to put some of that energy into something before Saturday. I decided on DIY-ing some fabric pins with fabric scraps and some embroidery thread. Mine is currently a small work in progress but there are plenty of other ways you can make your own march gear:

  • Upcycle an old t-shirt- with paint, patches, pins or stamps.
  • Knit or upcycle yourself a wristband using patriotic colors or pink to stand in solidarity with Planned Parenthood!
  • Use old magazines and newspapers to create a protest sign.

OR get yourself one of the consciously made items showcased on the Good Support website.

If you are in the LA area there are a couple of events in preparation for the march at Women's Center for Creative Work and Junior High. You can also follow the Women's March on Instagram for a daily dose of inspiration.

And lastly don't forget to stay safe and know your rights!
