3 New Year's Resolutions to Kick Fast Fashion's A**

Just Say No

It's hard when the country is littered with H&M, Topshop, and Forever 21 stores throwing insane deals in your face, but I think we can do it! My best tip for avoiding fast fashion is to take time before making purchases. If you visit a store and think you've fallen in love with something, take a walk down the street or through the mall and see if, in 30 minutes, you feel the same. Make thoughtful purchases and the earth, your wallet, and anxiety will thank you! (No joke.)

Make Do & Mend

Start by shopping your closet. It's easy to get bored with your clothes if you never mix things up. Look through your closet and start experimenting with new clothing combinations. Without a doubt, you will find items you forgot you owned– lucky you! Next is taking good care of your items. Don't throw away that shirt with one rip in it! So many things can be mended before being tossed. It can seem so daunting to fix clothing items if you don't have any sewing or mending experience, but trust me, you'll pick it easily!

Sharing is Caring

From swapping to vintage, preloved clothing is a fabulous choice! Get social and bring your friends together for a clothing swap, visit one of the thousand of thrift stores popping up all over the country, and check out some sweet vintage online (as well as in stores) that will help you to really make a fashion statement.
