4 Tools for Productivity Success

Now that the July holiday is officially over, it's time to get back into work mode. As someone who struggles greatly with procrastination and imposter syndrome (they go hand in hand!) I completely understand the grumbling you're probably doing right now. While I'm not excited to *gasp* actually get things done, the blow is cushioned by the tools and systems I've set up for myself.

  1. Notion

This is my most recent app discovery. As someone who is constantly writing random notes in my phone and losing them, Notion is a dream. While it takes a little bit to find the right rhythm (or template), it's wildly helpful in the end. Use it for your grocery lists, meeting notes, or to simply organize ideas you already have scattered on your various devices. Whether you're on your phone or computer, you can access all your thoughts with this tool. Favorite feature: You can add links and bookmarked pages to each page!

  2. Asana

I learned of Asana through the Boss Ladies podcast one day. It's primarily used for businesses with multiple team members and tasks to communicate seamlessly. While I'm not a media mogul or anything, I still find it incredibly helpful in organizing my work to-do lists. With customizable tags, color coding options, and device notifications, this tool will keep you going. Favorite feature: You can view your to do list in a calendar format, and if you're a visual learner like me this is important!

  3. Google Suite

While not a new concept in the slightest, the Google Suite is still a top notch productivity tool. Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar are just a few of the awesome apps within the suite. Everything is able to be organized in one space and keep you from searching through your computer for that one document you wrote a month ago. Favorite feature: You can easily share documents with colleagues, employers, or friends with the option to have them view, comment, or edit your creation.

  4. Boomerang

One of the more straightforward and simple tools, yet highly effective. Boomerang is a free extension that connects to you gmail account and enables you to schedule emails, sends you reminders, and can update you on your sent email's status. I tend to have moments where I remember every person I need to contact and then others when I forget everyone I was supposed to correspond with. This tool helps me to stay on top of emails without being that weirdo who sends an email at midnight on a Tuesday. Just me? Favorite feature: Like I said before, you can schedule emails for whenever you want!
